Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of JournoRequest ("the Service"), operated by JI Digital Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide a valid email address and create a secure password
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must notify us immediately at support@journorequest.com if you suspect unauthorised access

3. The Service

JournoRequest aggregates publicly available journalist requests from social media (primarily the #journorequest hashtag on X/Twitter) and delivers them to subscribers via a web dashboard and email alerts.

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, authenticity, or availability of any journalist request
  • We do not intermediate between you and journalists — you respond to them directly
  • We do not guarantee press coverage, media placements, or any specific outcome
  • The Service is provided on an "as available" basis and may experience downtime

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Free Tier

The free tier provides limited access to journalist requests (up to 3 per day) at no cost.

4.2 Premium Subscription

  • Price: $7.99 USD per month
  • Free trial: 3-day free trial for new subscribers (payment method required)
  • Billing: Charged monthly via Stripe. Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime from your account settings. You retain access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial months
  • Price changes: We will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance

4.3 Refunds

We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of initial payment, in compliance with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. Contact support@journorequest.com for refund requests.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute journalist request data from the Service
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
  • Impersonate any person or entity when responding to journalists
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited or spam communications to journalists

6. Intellectual Property

  • The JournoRequest name, logo, design, and code are owned by JI Digital Ltd
  • Journalist requests displayed on the platform are sourced from public social media and remain the property of their original authors
  • You retain ownership of any content you create (e.g., pitches, responses) — we do not claim rights over your work

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for any actions taken by journalists or outcomes resulting from your use of the Service

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK or UAE law.

9. Termination

  • By you: You may close your account at any time by contacting us or through account settings
  • By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with reasonable notice where possible
  • Effect: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JI Digital Ltd from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • For users in the UK: Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales
  • For users in the UAE: You may also bring claims in the courts of the Emirate of Dubai, in accordance with UAE Federal Law

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
